The Mee Lay Village of Hlegu

Burma Democratic Concern (BDC) earnestly denounces the military forcefully evicting the “Tha Mee Ka Lay Village” of Hle Kuu Township with excessive force, without providing temporary accommodation and without providing alternative means of shelter. We call for all the justice loving people to show your solidarity with villagers of “Tha Mee Ka Lay Village”. BURMA military is forcefully EVICTING villagers of “Tha Mee Lay” accusing them of illegal settlers even though they are not. Land grabbing is serious problem in Burma. Until now, people are suffering from social injustice. The government must help if someone is legally homeless depending on the eligibility of the person. Land grabbing or land seizures by the military without providing temporary shelter is social injustice and also degrading the people. No matter what, government must provide suitable accommodation before they were forced to remove from their homes. This is the very strong and fresh evidence that arbitrary confiscation of villagers’ land by military in Burma is still widespread.

Some so-called elected MP(s) sided with military aggressors. But, I respect you U Kaing Maung Yi.
