Jerseyman murdered in Thailand
Foreign minister Hugo Swire has said there is “real concern” in the UK over the Thai investigation into the murders of Jerseyman David Miller and fellow British tourist Hannah Witheridge.
Thai authorities have charged two bar workers with the murders of the British backpackers amid allegations that the suspects made confessions under duress. Mr Miller and Miss Witheridge were brutally murdered on the holiday island of Koh Tao in September.
The UK Prime Minister has today faced calls to launch an independent investigation into the murders of Jerseyman David Miller and Briton Hannah Witheridge.
The pair were killed in Thailand last month.
At Number 10 today, campaigners handed a petition with more than 100,000 signatures.
They’re concerned two Burmese men may have been forced into confessing to the killings.
Meanwhile Jersey’s government says it won’t make it’s own represenations to Thailand, but supports any moves by the UK.
