This is the time to help each other
25th March 2013
Burma Democratic Concern (BDC) is very saddened to learn that at least thirty people lost their lives and thousands of people are forced to flee from their homes due to the violent clashes erupted in upper Burma town of Makehtila. We would like to send our heart-felt deepest condolences to all the victims’ families who lost their loved ones due to the unrest.
We call for people of Burma to be vigilant on the wake of unrest and we would like to encourage people of Burma to stay calm so as not to be tricked and misled by wrong information and rumours. Please try helping to defuse the tension (if possible) wherever or whenever if a dispute has happened. Addition, please call the police as soon as possible if you see any suspicious behaviours or persons acting strangely.
Civilians participation would be the key for restoration of law and order in Burma and we call for all the law abiding citizens to do everything you can to rebuild the communities. We call for all the people of Burma to join hands together with law enforcement officers so as to maintain rule of law in Burma.
